In Fils de pute, Éric Pougeau hits hard with words. Words inscribed on various supports – death plaques, medical prescriptions and schoolbooks – that he appropriates to convey rage, insults and laughter.

Like a family album, this book seems to collect the secrets, the fantasies and the morbid impulses of an already adult child, worked by anguish and violence, who plays to conjugate life and death in an absurd and monstrous way. Post-mortem or fictional traces of various events at the limit of the imaginable, this book testifies, in an extreme way, to the banality of evil and to our childish impossibility to conceive it otherwise than in an exacerbated way.

Former guitarist of the Flaming Demonics (a Parisian cult band from the early 1990s), Eric Pougeau is a violent critic of social institutions in all their forms, starting with the family. Exhibited in several galleries – Olivier Robert in Paris, La Singulière in Nice, Elaine Levy Project in Brussels… – the artist’s work leaves anything but indifferent.
