Impact: Dix histoires de violences policières – Their names are Antoine, Lola, Jean, Patrice, Yann, Vanessa, Gwendal, Casti, Joan and Jérémy. They are brought together in this book by photographer Rudy Burbant. Ten victims of police violence during “maintenance of order” operations, ten women and men who took part in demonstrations to demand better living and working conditions, to raise the alarm about global warming, or simply to gather around a soccer stadium or to take part in the Fête de la Musique. IMPACT is the photographic account and testimonies of lives turned upside down, of the struggle to rebuild their lives and the tireless fight to have the wrongs they have suffered recognized. The book presents their portraits, and takes the time to grasp what’s at stake in their lives, through the looks they give us, their stigmata, and the discovery of their stories.
